The Kenaf.... Possible Miracle Plant?
The Kenaf is a plant part of the Hibiscus cannabinus family... it is a pant that has been recently discovered to absorb large amounts of CO2 in the atmosphere, absorbing 3-8 times more CO2 then trees. "With proper management, a single acre planted in Kenaf could absorb 20 tons of CO2."
It sounds like the stoners perfect excuse to grow these plants however, this plant does not contain the same buds as the beloved pot plant. In fact, "Kenaf is in the Hibiscus family and is thus related to both cotton and okra"... not cannabis.Similar to the looks, it does not produce THC so there is no reason why these plants shouldn't be planted everywhere.
The plant is native to southern Asia and has been said to be a weed that grows in different parts of the states. at the same time it does need a certain environment which it needs to flourish.. however, i believe we have the technology to mass produce it.. we just lack the desire.
The plant can grow in 3rd world countries and provide people with a source of food (full of protein) and a super insulating material. It can also be used to make paper... which means no more cutting down trees!.. fully grown in a few months you can cut it down and start making paper without cutting down our beloved pines.. which take 7-40 years to grow.
